Eclipse Console

The original inspiration for this designer console table came in the form of metal off-cuts used to make another Tom Faulkner piece. Spotting a series of negative shapes scattered across a sheet of steel, Tom began to experiment, piecing them together to form a cut-out table base. As the idea developed, Tom noticed that he was drawing inspiration from other sources. He noted the influence of Matisse’s iconic “Cut-Out” series as well as the stained-glass windows he designed for the Rosary Chapel in Vence, a place Tom has visited several times. As the console came into being, Tom was struck by the alter-esque quality of the piece – a fitting homage to its spiritual muse. The result is a unique and modern console table for a hallway, or stand-out feature piece for a living space or bedroom.
